New Dutch Horizons at Schiphol Airport
In commission for Schiphol and WINK the work ‘Night Eye’ (2024) was created for New Dutch Horizons, a 200 meter long illuminated art installation at Schiphol Airport, Lounge 1, on show until June 2025. 19 Dutch artists have reflected on the theme and made a work especially for this installation, which also features an audiotour about the works and artists.
For ‘Night Eye’ the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam was captured at night with a large format analog camera, with full moon, and a few minutes of exposure time. All details are visible up close in the 2.4 x 5 meter long print.
Unfortunately, this work and the work of Sasa Ostoja have been removed earlier due to the opening of a store. The intention is to relocate the works at Schiphol Airport after the exhibition closes, and the works will remain part of the art collection.
