The photo series Behind Death’s Door (2011) shows the houses of recently deceased people, cleared out by specialised companies.

“For her graduation project at the Utrecht School of the Arts, Panyigay, a photographer with an even greater penchant for melancholy than photographers usually already have, set out with a company that clears out homes after the residents have died. In half-empty houses she searched for the insignificant remnants of human existence - a shower rack, a stain, a mirror, a crack in the wallpaper - that had suddenly become so much more meaningful after death.” Merel Bem, Volkskrant 2019
